The Mets have been approved by the League for the 2012 season. The Mets are two key pieces of the 2011 Champion Giants. Rich Guillod, the 2011 Finals MVP is coming off one of the most impressive rookie debuts since Pete Montanez. Guillod pitched to a 7-1 record in 2011 with a 1.73 ERA and 107 Ks and was almost as good at the dish as he was off the carpet. With a .296 average, eight home runs, 26 RBI and his fielding you could say Guillod is one of those rare four tool players. Rob Pulsonetti didn’t let Guillod steal the entire spotlight. His .377 average was tops in the League making him the first rookie to ever win the Palisades WBL Batting Title. Make no mistake Pulsonetti wasn’t just a contact hitter, just look to his slugging and you’ll see he had power numbers that were off the charts. By far Pulsonetti’s biggest moment came when the Giants needed it the most with two HRs in Game 1 of the Finals, the second an 11th inning walk off.
Rich Guillod is the Mets owner, and both he and Pulsonetti are in their second year of service.
